Powered Wheelchairs & Power ChairsThe XLR connector is the universal standard for brands like Pride Mobility, Invacare, Sunrise Medical, and Hoveround. The "Joystick" Port: Almost every electric wheelchair has an XLR port located directly underneath the joystick controller. Overnight Charging: A 2A charger is the standard "overnight" charger for these chairs, safely bringing 12Ah to 20Ah batteries back to full health without overheating them. 2. Mobility Scooters: Three-wheel and four-wheel "travel" scooters almost exclusively use this 24V 2A XLR setup. Off-Board Charging: Many of these scooters allow you to remove the battery pack and bring it inside. The XLR plug connects directly to the pack. 3. Electric Scooters and Electric Bicycles - Razor Scooters: Models E200, E300, and MX350 Older e-bikes and scooters such as Currie, Schwinn and Izip utilize the 24V XLR format for their removable battery trays. Charging tips Usage Tips for Lead-Acid 1) The "Don't Wait" Rule: Lead-acid batteries hate being empty. Charge the device after every use, even if you only went a short distance. 2) Heat Dissipation: These chargers can get quite warm. Ensure charger is placed on a hard surface (not carpet) while charging. 3) Green Light vs. Red Light: Red/Amber: Bulk charging (constant current). Green: Float/Maintenance mode. You can leave it on Green indefinitely to keep the battery topped off.
