Premium Vespa GTS Speedometer Cable Assembly Stop guessing your riding speed or letting a dead odometer throw off your oil change intervals. This premium aftermarket speedometer cable assembly delivers a smooth, steady mechanical connection from your front wheel hub straight to the dashboard gauge cluster. Engineered to match strict OEM flex and length standards, it eliminates needle bouncing, twitching, or a completely dead speedometer needle caused by frayed internal core wires. Key Features OEM-Spec Flex Tuning: Replaces factory part number 650849 exactly, ensuring precise internal core rotational speed matching. Complete Inner & Outer Assembly: Includes both the high-tensile inner steel spinning core and the heavy-duty protective outer guide conduit. Low-Friction Pre-Lubrication: High-grade internal synthetic grease coating ensures smooth rotational speed delivery and prevents binding. Weather-Sealed Hub Boot: Equipped with a molded rubber boot at the lower wheel attachment point to lock out water, grit, and road salt. If your speedometer needle starts bouncing erratically between 20 mph and 40 mph, the inner wire strand has begun unravelling and rubbing against the outer casing, indicating immediate replacement is needed. Installation Tip: When routing the new cable down through the front steering column, never allow tight kinks or sharp bends. A sharp radius increases friction against the inner spinning core, which will cause the brand-new wire to snap within a few hundred miles of installation. Pro Tip: While you have the front wheel hub assembly apart to attach the lower cable end, always pull out and inspect the nylon Speedometer Drive Gear (the small plastic “worm gear” inside the hub). If the gear teeth are shaved flat or packed with dirt, a brand-new cable won’t solve your dead needle issue! WARNING: California Proposition 65
